France in terms of number of terrestrial casinos is among the European countries. Legal regulation
Gambling if France is regulated by Gaming Commission (Commission Supérieure des Jeux), which was set up for this aim by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Home Affairs. Gambling licence are granted to casinos by the Ministry of Home Affairs in accordance with the "Decree of 14 May 2007 on the regulation of gambling in casinos" on a temporary basis. Licensing process begins with the creation of a local government advisory committee, composed of deputies, mayors and senior officials. They consider the incoming regarding criteria such as local competition or economic interests. Then a positive or negative opinion for individuals applying for a license is issued.  It is then transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs where the final decision is made. The Ministry of Home Affairs carries inspections in casinos every three years and each time a casino passes it - a contract to operate is renewed, usually for five years.

Internet Casinos in France
